This was a one-week assignment where we were asked to create a musical form, with a phrase, motif, and variation, and then code an interface for it for our user. Form means that a piece is organized; i.e. that it consists of elements functioning like those of a living organism. The smallest piece to my form, my phrase, was a monoSynth. Each plant is contained of a synth that plays as many times as there are petals. My motif is generally ‘what would a plant symphony sound like’. I wanted them all to feel like they were of the same instrument, so they’re not a band. I might try it again with a capella sounds or string instruments.

The user is responsible for the variations. They can ass rain, or add a voice. They can make the octave higher or lower, as they can change the speed. This was coded with javascript, jQuery, and Tone.js
